For boys and girls aged 8 to 10½

Cub Scouts get the chance to try lots of different activities such as games, badge work, sports and practical skills like cooking. Cubs follow a Balanced Programme of activities which gives them a chance to try new things, work with other people, explore the world around them and develop personal skills.

Each week you can take part in an exciting Cub Meeting based around a theme, such as exploring a new country, a space journey, cooking, staying safe, art or aircraft - and lots more.  In addition to the fun and games, you will get a chance to try lots of different activities like climbing & abseiling, swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform.

Our seven Challenge Award badges cover a variety of activities under six headings: Community, Fitness, Promise , Creative, Global and Outdoor  (there's also an Outdoor Plus Award).

We organise day trips and visits to places such as Landmark Adventure Park, Glasgow Science Centre or Blair Drummond Safari Park. At least twice each year, you will get a chance to go to a camp or other sleepover activity. Sometimes this will be sleeping indoors and other times you will be sleeping in a tent. On every camp, you can do loads of activities.
