Group Summer Camp - The Ardeche,
France
An exciting Summer Camp opportunity,
open to older Cubs and all Scouts, Explorers and Network members. One week at the Acorn Adventure Centre at LaBeaume, in
the Ardeche region of the South of France - with activities ranging from a two-day canoe expedition through the river gorges
with an overnight bivvie sleep-out, to kayaking, archery, high ropes and a day trip down to a Mediterranean beach resort and
social activities in the evenings.
Explorer Scout EuroTrek
In the week before Group Summer Camp, a group of Explorers
completed a back-packing trip around a corner of Europe, travelling overnight ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam, then by train
to Cologne, Brussels then London. Short stops in each country, staying
overnight in youth hostels made this a whirlwind tour, but great fun and good training for 2012's Cross America activity.
"The Lost World"
Group Weekend Camp at Fordell Firs
Continuing our Summer Adventure programme, we ran our big weekend camp around the
theme of Arthur Conan Doyle's "The Lost World". Our young people became intrepid explorers of a strange new
world and even the heavy rain on saturday did not dampen spirits and a very busy programme of themed activities kept more
than 60 young people very busy.
Scout Expedition Challenge Award
Small group of Scouts planned and organised an expedition to Glasgow,
using public transport, overnight in Yoiuth Hostel and visiting some of the sights of the city

Hike on Lomond Hills
Our continuing programme
of day hikes saw a group of Explorer Scouts took to the Lomond Hills, summiting The Bishop Hill and East Lomond and concluding
the day with an unexpected oportunity to see "Pirates of the Caribbean 4" at the cinema!

Scout Weekend Camp at The Craigs
14 youngsters took part in weekend camp at the Craigs Camp Site near Torphicen,
in West Lothian. They were able to brush up on their basic camping skills and had time to take in the views from Knock, the
history of Cairnpapple Hill and the fun at Beecraigs Park

First visit to the refurbished Time Capsule was great fun, followed by a visit to the excellent Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Museum. Lots to see and do,
including a ride on an old Glasgow tram
